Supplement tracker app, Reddit

What Reddit recommends for tracking supplements

Updated 29 September 2026

Across 13 Reddit threads where people ask how to keep track of their supplements, the most common answer is not an app: it is a weekly pill organizer, in 6 of them. Then phone alarms and Apple Health’s Medications, in 5 each. Among apps, Cronometer comes up in 5, Medisafe in 4 and SuppCo in 3.

How we read them

Thirteen threads from r/Supplements, r/iphone, r/androidapps and r/ADHD, from 2019 to 2026, read in full on 29 September 2026. We counted a method once per thread, however many people named it, so the numbers are threads, not votes. Deleted comments do not show, so they are a minimum.

We left out threads opened by a developer to show their own app, and two accounts that recommend their own app across several threads. The full list of threads is at the end.

The answers, by how many threads bring them up

MethodThreadsWhat people likeWhat they do not
Weekly pill organizer6No app. You can see if you took it: “I can’t double dose because if I’ve taken my pill the compartment is empty.”No complaints in these threads.
Phone alarms5Simple, and it helps on busy or travel days.Easy to ignore. A cycle like two weeks on, one off needs several alarms.
Apple Health (Medications)5It reminds you and “you click taken or not taken”.“Doesn’t have any of the standard ones I have, just medications.” iPhone only.
Cronometer5“Lots of supplement products already added.”It is built for calories: “quite a lot of overhead”, and you log it every day.
Medisafe4“You can add any thing.” “Don’t have any complaints.”No complaints in these threads. Outside the US it is now paid.
SuppCo3“It’s pretty straightforward.”“It’s a paid service.” “Good, not yet great.”
Spreadsheet3Free, and it keeps a record.All manual.
Notes app or notebook2“Just writing it down in a notes app with a date might be all you need.”It gets messy.
Bearable2Links what you take with how you feel.No supplement database. “My tracking said brushing my teeth made me 240% worse.”
Round Health2“Confirm I’ve taken them with one touch… clean, simple interface.”iPhone only.

Quotes are from the threads, word for word. What we say about Medisafe’s price is not from Reddit: it is on the Medisafe page.

What keeps coming up

  • Most apps feel like reminder lists

The newest thread, from 2026, opens with this complaint, and a commenter agrees.

“Most supplement apps are just glorified reminder lists.”
  • Simple beats clever

People ask for less, not more. It is why the pill organizer and the notebook keep winning.

“A very simple and straightforward tracker. Nothing fancy. No AI recommendations.”
  • “Did I already take it?”

The main reason to log is not the reminder, it is knowing afterwards. One person turns each bottle upside down once taken.

“I would still need a way to track whether or not I’ve already taken it.”
  • Cycles nobody handles

Several threads want on-and-off schedules, and say medication and habit apps cannot do them.

“Take daily for 2 months, take 1 month break, repeat forever.”
  • Medication apps do not know supplements

The complaint about Apple Health and pill reminders is that they are made for prescriptions.

“There are loads of med/pill trackers, but none of those… has any clue about supplements.”

Where Supli fits, and where it does not

Supli was made for the simple end of this: a reminder at dose time, one tap to mark it, and a warning before a bottle runs out, with no account and nothing leaving the phone. It answers “did I already take it?” on the Today screen.

It does not do what some threads ask for. It does not link what you take with how you feel, like Bearable. It has no product database or barcode scanner, like Cronometer or SuppCo. And it cannot schedule cycles such as two months on, one off, yet: you can pause a supplement and resume it, by hand.

Questions

What is the best supplement tracker app according to Reddit?
There is no single winner. The most common answer is a weekly pill organizer, not an app. Among apps, Cronometer, Medisafe and SuppCo come up most, and Apple Health on iPhone.
Is a pill organizer better than an app?
For a stack that is the same every day, many Reddit users think so: you see at a glance if you took it. It struggles when your stack changes, when you travel, or when you want to know which bottle runs out next.
Does Apple Health work for supplements?
Yes, its Medications section takes vitamins and supplements, with reminders. Some users find it too focused on prescriptions, and it is iPhone only.
Is there a supplement tracker with no account and no subscription?
Supli needs no account and keeps everything on the phone, and it is free during the Android beta. Pricing for the public release will be announced before it launches.
